HISTORY OF THE COLLEGE

Narsipatnam is a developing town in Anakapalli District and geographically it exists in the low valley of the Eastern Ghats. These hills, which encircle Narsipatnam, have local name called Rajeswari hill range. Narsipatnam has a place in Indian history too.  Sri.Alluri Seetha Rama Raju sphereheaded a revolt in these areas against the imperial British in 1920’s as part of Indian Independence Movement. His pioneering Guerilla warefare was aided by the patriotic tribal Lieutenants like Gaon Malludora and Gaon Ghantamdora. But all this religious significance and historical importance did not help the socio-economic backward classes of Narsipatnam and its vicinities to move ahead in higher education until two decades ago when the Government of Andhra Pradesh established a Government Degree College in tune with its commitment to help the inhabitants of remote rural residents access higher education on par with those that dwell in urban regions. The college was established on 20thDec, 1984 through a Government Order vide G.O.Ms.No.306 Edn.Dt.19.07.1983.
